What is lemon balm?

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a calming herb in the mint family, traditionally used to support relaxation in both people and animals. True Calm uses a 4:1 extract, meaning it's concentrated for a more consistent effect.

Is lemon balm safe for dogs?

Lemon balm is generally considered safe for healthy adult dogs at the levels found in a complementary feed. Check with your vet first if your dog is pregnant, nursing, has a thyroid condition, or is on sedative or thyroid medication.

What does lemon balm do for dogs?

It's used to support a calm, relaxed state by working with the GABAergic system, which helps quieten an over-active nervous system. It's one of the reasons True Calm can support calm without sedation.

Frankie & Paws supplements are complementary feeds for dogs, not medicines, and aren't intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition. If your dog is a young puppy, pregnant, nursing, unwell, or taking medication, speak to your vet before introducing a new supplement.
