Passionflower

Passiflora incarnata

Passionflower is a flowering plant long used to support calm, and it's one of the lead botanicals in our True Calm supplement. We pair it with taurine to support the nervous system during everyday stress — gently, and without making dogs drowsy.

What is passionflower?

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a climbing plant whose aerial parts have a long traditional use in supporting calm and relaxation. In dog supplements it's valued as a gentle, plant-based way to take the edge off everyday stress.

Is passionflower safe for dogs?

Passionflower is widely regarded as safe for healthy adult dogs at the levels used in a complementary feed. Because it supports relaxation, check with your vet first if your dog is pregnant, nursing, a young puppy, or already taking sedatives or other calming medication, where effects could add up.

What does passionflower do for dogs?

It's used to support a calm, settled state during stressful moments such as travel, fireworks, or separation. True Calm is formulated to be non-sedating, so your dog stays relaxed but alert and responsive rather than sleepy.

How much passionflower should I give my dog?

Give it as part of True Calm at the dose shown for your dog's weight band, rather than dosing passionflower on its own. For situational stress you can give True Calm 30–60 minutes ahead of a known trigger; for ongoing support, give it daily and allow 2–3 weeks for the full effect.

Frankie & Paws supplements are complementary feeds for dogs, not medicines, and aren't intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition. If your dog is a young puppy, pregnant, nursing, unwell, or taking medication, speak to your vet before introducing a new supplement.
